The Siang running high enough to be properly exciting without anyone feeling out of their depth. Against that, the water was too high to run the section we'd booked for, so we did a tamer stretch, and for what we paid I'd expect the whole trip to be at the level of its best day.

Riding out of Ziro with a support van that turned up exactly where it said it would. Against that, messages before the trip took a day or two to get answered, and for what we paid I'd expect the whole trip to be at the level of its best day.

Camping above the valley on the second night, which none of us expected to be the high point. Not perfect — the Guwahati leg took five hours in traffic and ate most of a day — but it didn't take much away from the rest.
