The drive out to Dawki, where we were on the water by eight and had it almost to ourselves. Not perfect — the hotel on the first night was a clear step below the rest of the trip — but it didn't take much away from the rest.

The drive out to Dawki, where we were on the water by eight and had it almost to ourselves. Not perfect — there were two more people in the group than we'd been told to expect — but it didn't take much away from the rest.

Getting to the living root bridge before anybody else was on the path. Not perfect — the Guwahati leg took five hours in traffic and ate most of a day — but it didn't take much away from the rest.

A dawn safari where we saw rhino inside twenty minutes. Not perfect — we did three safaris and saw very little on two of them — but it didn't take much away from the rest.
