How little of it was scheduled — we were asked each morning what we felt like. Not perfect — messages before the trip took a day or two to get answered — but it didn't take much away from the rest.

A village lunch that wasn't on any itinerary and was the thing we still talk about. Not perfect — the hotel on the first night was a clear step below the rest of the trip — but it didn't take much away from the rest.

Our permits being sorted before we landed, so we rode on day one instead of queuing. Not perfect — the hotel on the first night was a clear step below the rest of the trip — but it didn't take much away from the rest.
